Greener Stock
In Late December, a New “Green” Business opened on Columbia Parkway. Greener Stock: Building Materials with a Conscience will sell eco-friendly Building Products and Design Services.
Local Architect and LEED AP, Heather Curless, derived the business model after having difficulty accessing green building products in Cincinnati for her own design projects.
The store will be a resource and design center showcasing a variety of earth friendly and non-toxic materials including:
* Recycled content Countertops made from paper, glass, and concrete
* Flooring and Sheet Goods made from rapidly renewable materials such as cork, bamboo & wheat
* Non-toxic Paints and Sealers derived from natural products such as clay and cashew shells
* Energy and Water Efficiency items such as building insulation made from denim, LED light bulbs, solar panels, rain barrels, and dual flush toilet converters
Curless and her team will also be providing design services for both commercial and residential clients:
* Color and product selection * LEED/green consulting
* Energy audits * Architectural building plans
The business, a first of its kind in Cincinnati, is located at 3528 Columbia Parkway in the Historic Columbia Tusculum Business District. Greener Stock is an environmentally friendly company looking to help others build or remodel their homes or businesses using recycled and green products offered by many vendors.
The desire for green building products is on the rise. With ever increasing energy costs and health issues being attributed to negative environmental factors, green buildings are starting to make more sense economically and environmentally. The products offered at Greener Stock are a beautiful way to positively impact one’s lifestyle and bottom line.

Fran Santangelo opened a new health and fitness studio on 3567 Columbia Parkway across from Starbucks. It offers personal training and group fitness, including Parallel Pilates and yoga, plus weight management consultation, Metaform Massage Therapy and salon services for both men and women.

This 24-hour fitness club offers convenient and affordable exercise option in a 4,000-square-foot facility.Anytime Fitness offers strength training and cardiovascular equipment, as well as tanning. Members can work out any time of the day or night, even when the club is not staffed, by using a security access key. Members also will have access to any of more than 700 clubs across the country.
